Nick Saban Making an Excuse?

Nick Saban said he’s not criticizing anyone and didn’t understand the blowback when he said Alabama’s team chemistry wasn’t what he hoped it would be before their semifinal game against Ohio State where they blew a 21-6 second quarter lead and lost 42-35.

Saban thinks he has a suggestion to make things better and wants to make perfectly clear that it is not an excuse or the reason they lost to Ohio State and took full responsibility for not getting his team ready to play to beat the Buckeyes. He wants players to play for their team and not have to worry about their NFL fate or where they’ll be drafted.

Would moving the declaration day for underclassmen who want to be in the NFL Draft back a week or two? Yeah, I think it will, but the perception is this is another excuse from Saban who cited the Sugar Bowl loss to Oklahoma two seasons ago on a lack of motivation because his team wasn’t playing for a national championship.
