SEC West Toughest Division in America?

Gus Malzahn was the first head coach to speak to the media and he didn’t mince his words when he said the the SEC west was a man’s league and the best division in college football and it isn’t even close.

Would you expect him to say anything else?

The head coach of the Auburn Tigers spoke very confidently of his team with his time and could be in line for his second SEC championship in his three years on the Plains.

The same sentiments were shared by Mississippi State’s Dan Mullen who said you can’t fully appreciate the toughness and challenges playing in the west present unless you are in the division.

Despite a 2-5 mark from the west in bowl games last year and a second year in a row without a national championship, it’s hard to argue with the unparalleled depth of the seven teams in the division. The gap has closed in recent years, but the SEC west is still the best division and the SEC is still the best conference.

But could that change by next year’s SEC Media Days?
