SEC – Tennessee Volunteers

With so many delusional fan bases in the SEC (looking at you Georgia, Ole Miss, Arkansas and South Carolina), it was hard to pick just one, but the Checkerboard Nation kind of sets themselves apart.

While Tennessee has been making big strides under Butch Jones, the fans really need to hold off on this championship and ring talk that’s going around. The brick-by-brick mantra is great, but they’ve yet to really get beyond the foundation.

Truthfully the Vols will probably see yet another improvement in 2015, but they have to start beating some rivals before they start talking about rings. They’ve lost to Georgia for five straight seasons, haven’t beaten Florida since 2005 and have even managed to lose two out of the last three to Vanderbilt.

It’s great to see the Vols posting winning records again, but the fans are putting the cart way, way, way before the hound dog in 2015. SEC East dark horse at best, nowhere near ready to overtake the conference, even with Joshua Dobbs and Jalen Hurd.
