Last year’s game proved exceptionally well for the Ole Miss Rebels, as the Rebels were able to knock-off the fourth ranked Bulldogs with a 34-17 win at Vaught Hemingway Stadium.

This season things have changed. Mississippi State will only return seven of their starters from a year ago, and the Rebels are set to bring back just about everyone, including junior wide-receiver, Laquon Treadwell, who did not play in last year’s Egg Bowl.

The Egg Bowl is always a must-watch, and this season could prove exceptionally exciting, as it will be the last time Dak Prescott faces the Rebels on senior night in Starkville.

Ah, the Egg Bowl. College football’s most entertaining poultry-based rivalry.

Ole Miss and Mississippi State have been playing each other since 1901, and the series, in large part, has been dominated by the Ole Miss Rebels, with an exception to State’s thirteen game win streak from 1911-1925. But in recent years, it’s been the Mississippi State Bulldogs who have bested the Rebels, winning four of the last six meetings between the two.
