4. Georgia Bulldogs

  • Preseason SEC Rank: Third overall, first in the SEC East
  • Preseason Top 25 Rank: 9
  • Last Year: 10-3, ranked No. 9 in the country and second in SEC East

Georgia coach Mark Richt enters his fifteenth season as head man of the Bulldogs and what Richt has been able to do with this club is nothing short of amazing – except win a National Championship. The Bulldogs have averaged just under 10 wins per season under Richt (9.7), won two SEC Championships and six SEC East Championships.

So Georgia’s top 10 preseason ranking and fans expectations are justified.

But – Georgia always seems to lose a game or two, or even three to knock them right back down to earth. Just last year they suffered a three-point loss to South Carolina and got boat raced by 18 to Florida.

Two years ago, they lost an opener to Clemson, while losing to Missouri and Vanderbilt as well. Georgia is a top ten recruiter annually, has big time resources and tons of money – not to mention a pretty good coaching staff.

There is no reason they should be dropping games annually that they should win, but they do, which is why the Dawgs are our first out the gate that could very well be overrated in 2015.

Will it be the Carolina game again in week three at home; or an October trip to Tennessee that trips up this team?

Georgia is vastly favored to win the SEC East this year, but don’t be surprised if this group of Dawgs stumble and fall in 2015, leaving everyone in Athens to again question Richt.

It will be a disappointment if: If Georgia doesn’t win the SEC East; that in itself is a disappointment, but you could see a scenario where the Dawgs finish 7-5 or 8-4 and in the middle of the pack. If that were to happen, you would see major fireworks in the Peach State.
