No. 2 Mississippi State Bulldogs vs. No. 7 Arkansas Razorbacks

How can you not love that face? In our first match we have a bulldog versus a razorback. I just did a Google image search for razorbacks, and I am now terrified. Apparently, there are razorbacks out there that are the size of horses. Bulldogs are scrappy, but I worry about the tusks. It is basically like having two spears on either side of your mouth. The bulldog is undersized in this match-up and has no weapons attached to his face. In our first upset, the razorback defeats the bulldog. The razorback will go on to face a rested elephant in the next round.

Mississippi State fans, do not get discouraged and put those cowbells down. The Bulldogs are coming off their best season in many years. Dak Prescott is back and a legit Heisman trophy candidate. According to Phil Steele, they only have 7 returning starters which could pose a problem. It is one of the lowest in the conference. However, the SEC is full of new quarterbacks this year. Having a player like Prescott puts them at an advantage in a position that is arguably the most important in football.

The beginning of their schedule is more favorable than the end. Mississippi State fans hope they can build early momentum that takes them into their match-ups against Missouri, Alabama and Ole Miss with confidence. The deciding factor for the Bulldogs? It will be how fast the players in the trenches can learn. The team is very inexperienced at both offensive and defensive line. This could lead to a lot more quarterback option plays for Prescott.

No. 7 Arkansas advances.
