Florida State at Florida – November 28th

This bitter rivalry is one of the best in college football. The Gators dominated the early years of this rivalry while Florida State was still wet behind the ears in terms of their football program, and as such lead the all-time series 34-23-2. Since 1974, however, the series has been dead even, each team snagging 21 victories with only one tie between the pair.

Florida vs Florida State has had some of the most memorable games in college football history, from the “Choke at Doak”, to the “Fifth Quarter in the French Quarter”, with their rivalry even making it to the biggest stage in the game, which led to Florida’s first ever National Title game victory over the Seminoles in 1996.

Recently, Florida has struggled to stay relevant in the college football discussion, and has been one of the worst football teams in the SEC these past two years. The Jameis Winston led Seminoles won two straight games against the Gators, the last of which was Will Muschamps’ final game as the head coach of Florida.

The Gators enter the season with many questions, including questions at the quarterback position, which former Colorado State head coach Jim McElwain will look to answer in a big way this season. The Gators played the ‘Noles hard last year, walking out of Tallahassee after a narrow 24-19 loss. You can bet that Florida will be looking to avenge that loss in Gainesville.
