He has been at Mississippi State since 2009, and I think him not ending up at Florida, where he served as offensive coordinator before becoming the head coach in Starkville, this off-season is a good sign for State fans.

Mullen will be Mississippi State for as long as he wants to be, and because of this, he has the most job security out of all the head coaches in the SEC.

Dan Mullen

Head Coach, Mississippi State

Fresh off Mississippi State’s best season since the turn of the century, Dan Mullen is in no way, shape, or form worried about losing his job, even if his Bulldogs were to finish last in the SEC West as predicted.

Mullen holds Mississippi State in the palm of his hands. It’s his program, and no matter what happens, record-wise, it will continue to be his, unless something drastic happens. If anyone is on the hot seat here, it’s Mississippi State. They’re the ones having to deal with other teams courting Mullen, and they have to try their very best to keep Mullen each offseason.
