The Aggies have suddenly took control of the state of Texas, making this potential match-up way too intriguing and impactful to the recruiting landscape to not happen.

An old rivalry game that dates back to 1894, Texas vs. Texas A&M was played every single year from 1915 to 2011, when A&M ditched the Big 12 for the SEC. Since then, Aggies head coach Kevin Sumlin has fielded endless questions about the return of the rivalry, but we’ve yet to see the programs play. This is especially frustrating considering the school’s basketball programs are set to meet in this upcoming season’s Battle 4 Atlantis tournament.

Both Sumlin and Longhorns head coach Charlie Strong have expressed a wish to renew the series, so it’s time for these schools to stop playing around and get some games scheduled. While we’d love to see a home-and-home series now, we’d settle for a neutral showdown at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, if that’s necessary.

While some of the other rivalry games on this list are just as entertaining, when you consider the Longhorns’ dominance of the series (Texas leads 76-37-5) and A&M’s recent rise to elite status, the return of this game would take the cake.
