Rutgers and Louisville played in some of the most thrilling, high-stakes games as Big East members at the end of the conference’s run, including the No. 15 Scarlet Knights’ thrilling win over No. 3 Louisville in 2006 and Louisville’s 20-17 victory in 2012 that sent the Cardinals to a BCS bowl.

Unfortunately, these rivals no longer face off annually on the gridiron following Rutgers’ move to the Big Ten and Louisville’s acceptance into the ACC, but that could be fixed with a non-conference agreement.

Rutgers currently has some good future non-conference series scheduled with Miami (FL), UCLA, Washington and Virginia Tech, but Scarlet Knights fans would definitely enjoy some renewed match-ups with former Big East rivals like Louisville, Syracuse, West Virginia and Boston College.

Louisville also has some premier opponents locked up for future games, including Auburn in 2015, Alabama, Notre Dame and Kentucky, but would benefit from the addition of a familiar opponents like Rutgers and West Virginia.
