5. LSU Tigers
The LSU Tigers finished 8-5 last year and by all accounts that was in fact a disappointing season by LSU expectations.
LSU returns 17 starters for the 2015 season and are picked to finish third in the SEC West and fourth overall in the Southeastern Conference.
The Tigers obviously have big questions at quarterback and along the defensive front, but had tons of participation from their sophomore class in 2014. The Tigers rank 26th nationally in this category, as they have 228 total games played by sophomores with 99 coming on the offensive side of the football and 104 throughout their defense.
Quarterback Anthony Jennings is the big headliner of the Tigers sophomore class as he played in all 13 games a year ago, and Tiger fans expect his junior year to show immense improvement.
Sophomore Travin Dural lead the team in receiving a year ago as he hauled in 37 catches for 758 yards and seven touchdowns. Tight end DeSean Smith also played a big role in the Tigers offense during his sophomore season.
Kicker Trent Domingue should be better a year older, as should Colby Delahoussaye. You can never underestimate the value of experienced kickers in the SEC and these two could help LSU win a game or two down the stretch.
Kendall Beckwith was second on the team in tackles a year ago from the linebacker position with 77 total tackles, and sophomore Rickey Jefferson was tied for the team lead in interceptions with two.
