2. Everett Golson

Florida State lost a great quarterback in Jameis Winston, but the offseason was a fruitful one for the ‘Noles as they picked up a seasoned veteran in former Notre Dame quarterback Everett Golson, who transferred to FSU this summer.

Golson is a great pickup for the Seminoles. He has two full seasons of experience under his belt, one in which he led the Fighting Irish to the championship game against Alabama (which they lost). He is a dual threat quarterback, he can make opposing defenses suffer through the air and on the ground. Last year, he threw for more than 3,400 yards and racked up 29 touchdowns. He also added eight touchdowns on the ground for the Fighting Irish.

Nobody is expecting him to roll right in and be the next Winston, but if he secures the starting job, he will be a solid player for the Seminoles, especially with a QB-friendly coach such as Fisher. Fisher will be sure to coach him up on any deficiencies he might have so that he can thrive in Tallahassee.
