14. Darrel K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium

Austin, Texas

Capacity: 100,119

Record attendance: 101,851, in a 48-45 loss to the West Virginia Mountaineers.

What makes it great: Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium is the home of the Texas Longhorns. In 2006, a new scoreboard was built at Texas Memorial Stadium. At the time of its creation, the scoreboard was the largest in the world, measuring 55 feet by 134 feet. The size of “Godzillatron” has been surpassed by that of Kyle Field at Texas A&M, meaning it’s not even the largest in the state of Texas anymore.

That said, the Longhorns lead the Aggies all-time series 76-37-5, so maybe Texas will just give A&M this one for now.

Greatest game played: Over the course of the long and historic rivalry between Texas and Texas A&M, the Longhorns have often held the upper hand. Texas is often ranked higher when they meet, and as shown from the records, generally victorious on the field. In 1998, however, No. 6 Texas A&M came to Austin with a 10-1 record, their sole loss being their opener against then-number two Florida State.

The underdog Longhorns, thanks to 272 yards on 44 carries from Heisman Trophy winning running back Ricky Williams, stunned the favored Aggies 26-24.
