5. Saturday, October 24: Louisville vs. Boston College

Boston College has quickly established themselves as a tough competitor, boasting one of the best rushing games in college football. Despite dual-threat quarterback Tyler Murphy entering the NFL Draft, BC still has star running back Jon Hilliman, who accumulated 860 yards and 13 touchdowns in his freshman year. There is no doubt he will improve yet again, this time with a new quarterback under center.

An intra-division game is very important for Louisville; they lost three games in the ACC last season and finished third in the Atlantic, tied for fourth with Duke in the ACC overall. The team’s defensive line will have six games under their belt already and will have the opportunity to make a statement by shutting down one of ACC’s best running backs in Hilliman.

Louisville should walk away with the win unscathed. Last season, they defeated Boston College 38-19. But, they lost Gardner for the season with what turned out to be a torn ACL. Bonnafon came in and threw for two touchdowns and 69 yards on four completions. Whichever quarterback wins the preseason battle should have no problem defeating Boston College’s defense and rolling past them for another win.
