BUYING
For the first time in…well…forever, I completely agree with the preseason ranking for the Sooners. Almost always overranked at the start of the season, more people are taking notice of the downward slope on which Oklahoma has found themselves.

On the plus side, the Sooners are the Sooners, and draw good talent regardless of how the season finishes. They also have Bob Stoops, who can still coach at a championship level.
But last season the Sooners finished 8-5 in a Big 12 that was seeing a power shift, and there’s no real reason to think they’ll improve by more than one win this season. Oklahoma has a grueling schedule once conference play opens, not to mention a week 2 date with Tennessee in Knoxville.
The Sooner Nation should get used to seeing TCU, Kansas State and Baylor atop the Big 12 rankings, and to possibly be looking up at West Virginia and Texas. At least they won’t have to worry about being left out of the playoffs because of no conference championship game.
