2014 may have been the most exciting season in the history of Mississippi State Bulldogs football, but 2015 may come back as one of the most disappointing to fans. No top 25 team has lost as many starters as Mississippi State this season.

  • Most analysts have the Bulldogs picked to finish last in the SEC West, and that’s not just a coincidence. The Bulldogs are losing a ton of talent on both sides of the ball, and offensively the only real weapon they have returning is quarterback Dak Prescott.

This Bulldogs offense will probably struggle to find an identity early in the season and may not look like a cohesive unit until midway through the season.

Defensively things are looking just as bleak. Preston Smith and Benardrick McKinney will be tough to replace on that front seven, and the Bulldogs are losing three starters from a secondary that allowed the most passing yards in the SEC last season.

Kudos to Dan Mullen for the job he’s done, but doubtful this season is anywhere near a successful as 2014 for the cowbell clanging nation in Starkville.
