3. Maryland

Maryland’s entry into the Big Ten went pretty much as expected. The Terps feasted on the bottom feeders, played nail-biters vs the middle tier and were clearly outclassed by the conference’s elite. Blowing a 25-point lead to Rutgers in the season finale crushed the bid to finish season one with a winning record in the Big Ten. Maryland then went to the West Coast and laid one of the biggest eggs of the bowl season vs Stanford.

2015 should start 3-0 with games against Richmond, Bowling Green and South Florida. The Terps then travel to Morgantown. West Virginia nipped Maryland on a field goal at the gun last season. The regional rivalry is one Maryland should try to preserve. The date with WVU begins a lengthy stretch of challenging tilts with Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, Iowa, Wisconsin and Michigan State lined up through November 14.

The Big Ten has paired its two latest entries as final week rivals. Maryland visits Rutgers on November 28.
