Will Fuller has made some ridiculously talented plays up to this point in his career and should be the top target for quarterback Malik Zaire this season. He could even end up as the most productive receiver nationwide. The 6-1, 180-pound junior had 1,094 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns last year as a sophomore and in his first season put up 160 receiving yards on only six catches. That averages out to be more than 26 yards per reception.
Fuller has great hands and extremely good–even elite–speed. He’ll be just one of the several key components on the Fighting Irish offense, but the team will rely on his performance to help push it towards a double-digit wins season. Fuller made big plays last year in big games, namely against Florida State (had eight catches, 79 yards, 1 TD), so expectations are high for the wide receiver.
He could also surpass those expectations and end up with Heisman Trophy consideration, which would not surprise me. I think most would expect nothing short of double-digit touchdown receptions and at least getting close to the 1,000 yard reception mark again.
