Jake Coker started at quarterback after seemingly winning the competition in fall camp. Coker was very efficient and completed 15 of 21 pass attempts for 213 yards and a touchdown. Cooper Bateman also played, and was 7-for-8 for 51 yards. The pair distributed the ball to nine receivers, including Robert Foster who led with four receptions for 50 yards and a TD, and perhaps most importantly, never turned the football over.

Defensively, the Tide looked as good as ever, holding the Badgers to 268 total yards, only 40 of which came on the ground. That was the worst rushing performance for a Wisconsin team since 2012. Alabama will tune up next week against Middle Tennessee before turning their attention to Ole Miss in the SEC opener.

The Alabama Crimson Tide held on to the top spot in our weekly SEC Power Rankings thanks to a solid 35-17 performance against Wisconsin in Dallas.

Simply put, Derrick Henry is a beast and he looked like a surefire Heisman contender. The 240-pound running back had 147 rushing yards and three touchdowns on just 13 carries (an average of 11.3 yards per attempt), including a 37-yard TD on fourth-and-1 in the first quarter and a 56-yard scamper early in the second half. Kenyan Drake had 77 rushing yards on ten carries, including a 43-yard score that gave the Tide a commanding 35-10 lead early in the fourth quarter.
