Teams who dropped, but should have stayed in place or moved up

No. 10 Georgia (down from 9): So you win your opening game — a game shortened nearly 10 minutes by lightning — by a score of 51-14, and look completely dominant. Of course you drop one spot in the polls. Georgia was hopped over by Notre Dame, who probably deservedly moved up with their domination of Texas. But had some of the other movements discussed in previous slides not occurred, the Bulldogs would still be sitting ninth or possibly eighth. Bad form, gentlemen.

No. 11 Florida State (down from 10): I guess the AP has decided to start punishing FSU before they can even really get going. Like Georgia, they handily won their opener against Texas State 59-16, but still managed to drop one notch in the polls. Both Georgia and FSU should be sitting above Auburn at this point, and the Seminoles should be staring down at UCLA, not Clemson.
