Sep 12, 2015; Louisville, KY, USA; Louisville Cardinals running back Corvin Lamb (4) returns a punt from the Houston Cougars during second quarter at Papa John

That could be the lone shimmer of hope for the Cardinals right now who are in need of finding themselves as a team. This could be like the Patriots last season who were 0-2 heading into Cincinnati and went on to win the Super Bowl, but I’m not quite convinced of that quite yet.

Finding camaraderie as an offense with a single quarterback will go a long way in turning that potential into victories. So much easier said than done, but it can be done. Coach Bobby Petrino will figure something out to get this team moving, but what will it be?

Improvements will have to wait a week as they face the No. 12 Clemson at home next week. It may not be a blowout in the end, but Deshaun Watson and the Clemson defense will keep the Cardinals in check. Clemson pulls the game out 20-17.

Louisville Cardinals (0-2)

Last week: L 34-31 Houston
Last rank: 4th

Scared yet?

Louisville, you should be. Not a very good start to the season and it will only get tougher. True freshman quarterback Lamar Jackson got the starting nod against Houston over Reggie Bonnafon who is having issues separating himself from others. The excitement of Jackson wore off in the fourth quarter when he was replaced, not by Bonnafon, but Kyle Bolin who turned out to be effective. Going 10/18 passing for 157 yards and a touchdown.
