2399.
If you didn’t get the memo last week, Temple is quite good this year, and their spot here at the top shows. The huge win over Penn State wasn’t just a fluke, and this week the Owls showed that as they played at Cincinnati.

Just as was projected during the off-season and then verified last week, Temple’s defense is very strong. The group forced quarterback Gunner Kiel to throw four interceptions, including one that was tipped by the receiver and picked by Tyler Matakevich in the end zone to end the game. It was his second defensive grab of the game. While 557 yards were allowed by the defense, it was able to make some key plays against a very talented offense.

Temple made an exciting play by recovering an onside kick early in the third quarter. Temple took a 34-12 lead early in the fourth quarter, but Cincinnati was able to make it very close at the end. Temple’s offense has made a nice improvement since last year, which has made all the difference for this team.

Jahad Thomas made some fabulous plays, including a kickoff return for a touchdown and a 56 yard touchdown run. He finished the day with 193 yards on the ground. Temple takes on the University of Massachusetts away next game.
. (W at Cincinnati 34-26). Previous: 4th. Temple Owls. 1. team
