Idaho State punter with blooper of the year candidate (Video)
Unfortunately the Idaho State punter will find himself on the blooper reels this year after his punt went terribly wrong in their loss to Boise State.
Idaho State is likely going to end up on the Not Top 10 on SportsCenter after a rugby style punt by Zak Johnson shanked it and hit Boise State’s Tanner Vallejo who was 12 yards away.
Maybe he was flustered by the blue turf?
Things could have been worse though. He could have had the punt blocked. He could have fumbled the snap and had Boise State recover ir. He didn’t give up a touchdown. Although the Broncos would score on the ensuing possession to make it 28-0.
Sometimes you just miss. Punters do it. Kickers do it. It’s happened before to some of the best in the history of the game, but this one will rank as one of the bloopers of the year.
I’d look on the bright side though and think I got my blooper out of the way in mid-September and now I can have the rest of the season to make up for that and play good football the rest of the way.
Now how’s that for finding a silver lining?
