If you don’t think Bobby Petrino was already on a probationary status at Louisville, you don’t read the papers much. He’s back at Louisville because Charlie Strong left, and because Petrino sweet-talked and convinced Tom Jurich that he had mended his wicked ways and was a new man.
New man or not, the Cardinals are reeling in 2015 and off to their first 0-3 start since Ronald Reagan was in the Oval Office. The master of the spread offense is being dominated by opposing defenses, and there doesn’t look to be a lot of hope this season.
Short of running the table and making a splash in a big bowl game, there may not be a way to save Petrino’s job this year, and if the Cardinals move to 0-4, he’ll be knocking on Western Kentucky’s door for a return engagement with the Hilltoppers.
