The second conference game came when Florida State (3-0) met Boston College (2-1) on Friday. The Eagles were able to flex their muscles a bit on defense, holding the potent offense of the Seminoles to just 217 yards.

More importantly, they kept Florida State running back, Dalvin Cook, in check and limited him to just 54 yards on 15 carries. As great as the Boston College defense played, they weren’t able to overcome the turnovers by the offense, the dagger being a 36 yard fumble recovery by Seminole corner Jalen Ramsey early in the fourth quarter.

Florida State won the game by a score of 14-0.  It was a game we all expected FSU to win but not one we expected to see such a great defensive performance out of the BC Eagles. Can’t blame an injury for the loss, but starting quarterback Darius Wade was knocked out of the game with a broken ankle that ends his season. Even in the loss, Boston College showed their defense is capable of slowing one of the nation’s best backs and making life tough for opposing quarterbacks.
