Iowa didn’t cover the four-point closing line but that won’t matter for them as they made a 57-yard field goal at the horn to get the win. Iowa is 3-0 for the first time since 2009. Quarterback C.J. Beathard has been the story for the Hawkeyes in the early going. He has thrown for 684 yards and four touchdowns, and has added three rushing touchdowns in the first three games.

The Big Ten West is wide open and the Hawkeyes look like they will compete for a spot in the Big Ten championship game. Iowa is a 24.5-point favorite against North Texas in Week 4. The Hawkeyes could be looking ahead with a date at Wisconsin the week after.
