Michigan State 35, Air Force 21

Michigan State won but didn’t cover the 24.5-point spread. It’s hard to blame the Spartans for not covering after they defeated Oregon the week before. Michigan State did lead 35-7 at one point but the box score is what’s interesting with this game. Air Force had more first downs than Michigan State and outgained them 428-324. Three turnovers hurt Air Force and Michigan State made them pay.

Michigan State is now ranked No. 2 in the AP Poll, which could mean they will be overvalued in the betting market. Despite the 3-0 record they are 0-3 against the spread. Their game against Central Michigan this weekend opened at 31 points and is now down to 27. Going forward, Michigan State might be favored by too many points in their games as long as they are ranked in the top five.
