Minnesota 10, Kent State 7

This game was one of the uglier games of the weekend in the result and box score. Minnesota outgained Kent State 288-142 but only had 13 first down compared to eight for their MAC opponent. The Golden Gophers turned the ball over three times and one was returned for Kent State’s only touchdown of the game.

This is still a concerning result for Minnesota who were playing a team that lost 52-3 to Illinois in Week 1. However, it was a tough situation for the Golden Gophers who were coming off a dramatic overtime win at Colorado State. The Golden Gophers aren’t getting much support from bettors this week as their game against Ohio has been bet down from 13 points to 10.5 points. It’s hard to back Minnesota as a double-digit favorite with their offense struggling so much.
