Northwestern 19, Duke 10
Northwestern went on the road and gained a huge win over Duke and now the Wildcats are No. 17 in the AP Poll. Ohio State and Michigan State are the only Big Ten teams ranked higher. In the victory at Duke, Northwestern was outgained 327-271 so the box score might show the result is misleading. However, Northwestern scored on a kickoff return, which prevented them of an offensive drive.
Hard to tell how good the Wildcats are but they did upset a Stanford team who just won at USC. Northwestern is now an 18.5-point favorite against Ball State. Hopefully we’ll learn something new about the Wildcats before they start conference play.
