  • Point Spread: Ole Miss -6.5

One of the most intriguing games of the weekend comes out of the SEC. The 25th ranked Florida Gators look to stay undefeated by beating SEC West foe Mississippi in the Swamp. Florida is off to a fast start under new head coach Jim McElwain with two conference wins over Kentucky and Tennessee. Neither win was pretty, but they got the job done.

Speaking of getting the job done, Ole Miss laid down one of the most surprising upsets we might see all year by beating Alabama in Tuscaloosa just two weeks ago. This might be Hugh Freeze’s best squad since coaching at Mississippi, but knows it’s too early to be handing out hardware when you play in the SEC West.

Only five teams from the SEC remain unbeaten. This game features two of them. We will find out a lot about both teams at the end of this game. Ole Miss quarterback Chad Kelly will have his hands full going against a tough Gator secondary, but it might come down to Florida’s Will Grier and his play that determines the game.

There are some great matchups in the SEC this weekend including Alabama at Georgia and Mississippi State at Texas A&M, but it’s hard to see an underdog. Florida also needs this win to revive a program that saw so much success last decade.
