Florida never trailed in the game, built a 25-0 lead in the first half, and rolled to a 38-10 victory that was the biggest for the program a 37-26 victory over No. 10 Florida State in the 2012 regular season finale. The Gators controlled both sides of the football. They outgained the Rebels 355-328 in total yardage, won the turnover battle 4-0 thanks to three Ole Miss fumbles and an interception by All-American cornerback Vernon Hargreaves III, and sacked Ole Miss quarterback Chad Kelly four times.
Quarterback Will Grier, who was one of 21 Florida players battling the flu bug this week in Gainesville, was impressive with a 24-for-29 passing performance with 271 yards and four touchdowns. Grier’s favorite target was Demarcus Robinson, who caught eight passes for 98 yards and a 36-yard touchdown that put the Gators on the board in the first quarter. Brandon Powell, Antonio Callaway and Jake McGee also caught TD passes.
The passing performance is very encouraging moving forward, but the Gators will go as far as their defense will take them in 2015. Right now, Florida is in the driver’s seat in the SEC East, and they’ve earned the top spot in our SEC Power Rankings.

The Florida Gators are back on top of the SEC. Or, at least, back on top of the SEC Power Rankings.
Despite a 4-0 overall record, including conference wins over Kentucky and Tennessee, and the home field advantage of The Swamp, few gave Florida a chance to beat No. 3 Ole Miss Saturday night. The Gators were a touchdown underdog according to Las Vegas oddsmakers, but once the game kicked off, Florida dominated.
