LSU-South Carolina game moved to LSU due to flooding
By Jacob Yturri
The LSU vs. South Carolina game has been moved to Baton Rouge, LA due to severe flooding in the Palmetto State.
In what was already expected to be a game that heavily favored LSU, the match up between the Tigers and the Gamecocks now looks even more favorable to LSU. The game was originally supposed to take place at 11 AM in Columbia, SC but due to the tragic flooding in the surrounding areas the game has to be moved to Baton Rouge at 2:30.
It is unfortunate that the University of South Carolina will lose the majority of the revenue from what should have been a home game for them and sure it’s not “fair” but it was the necessary move for the university to make. Steve Spurrier joked with Les Miles that the crowd wouldn’t cheer as loud but understands the impact of losing a home game.
LSU will be the road team officially and can only dress 70 players and won’t wear their traditional home white uniforms and will instead wear the purple jerseys. But make no mistake, this is a huge and devastating blow for the Gamecocks, as they were already a huge underdog going into this game. Expect to see LSU play even more aggressively in their own stadium.
