Big Ten Power Rankings: Michigan overtakes Ohio State for top spot

Run first, free-lance style quarterback Tommy Armstrong is running Riley’s West Coast offense and just doesn’t look comfortable. Armstrong turned in another woeful passing performance in hitting just 11 of 28 passes for 129 yards. Armstrong’s 52.4 completion percentage is somewhat propped up by performances vs Southern Miss and South Alabama. Armstrong has completed just 22 of 59 vs Big Ten opponents.
The ground game isn’t Nebraska like either. Janovich’s 55 yard scamper made him the leading rusher vs Wisconsin and almost matched his career total coming into the game (62).
Possibly the nation’s best two-win team, Nebraska looks to play spoiler in the West unless it wins out.

Imagine losing every game on the final play of the contest. Imagine being Mike Riley. Every Saturday we witness wild comebacks and crazy finishes across the nation. Nebraska has seen more than its share and all the breaks have gone the wrong way.
The most recent chapter of Husker woes came at home with old nemesis Wisconsin in town. Andy Janovich’s 55 yard scoring scamper gave Nebraska a 21-20 lead with about four minutes left. Nebraska then denied a Badger bid to take the lead with a defensive stand and missed field goal with 1:22 left. The Huskers, however, couldn’t budge the Badgers on three running plays and gave up the ball again. This time Wisconsin converted on the final play, of course. Nebraska is four plays from being 6-0. Reality is that Nebraska is 2-4.
