Oh how the mighty have fallen. And to be honest, this must be embarrassing for Duck fans. Your program has collected some of the top recruits in the nation, and in a system, Mark Helfrich is not able to plug these guys in.
Maybe Marcus Mariota was more than a system quarterback, and Vernon Adams is still out for Oregon nursing some injuries, but Jeff Lockie was a guy who was in contention to start the season, and would have been handed the position if Adams wasn’t cleared.
Their defense is also a complete liability, with one of the worst secondaries in quite possibly the nation, and the Cougars took advantage. They’ve given up 41+ in four games this season, and that’s not good.
A trip to Washington is intriguing for the Ducks. Do they bounce back and stay above .500? Or will this just be the ultimate collapse of a team that was in the College Football Playoffs earlier this year.
