Marshall needs to come up big next week at Florida Atlantic, or the momentum they have may not be enough to keep them at this spot. With the quality of teams who missed the cut, there isn’t much margin for error.

Marshall came up with a win against Southern Miss last week 31-10. Southern Mississippi actually outplayed Marshall in offensive yards 439 to 277, but the Golden Eagles gave up five turnovers.

One of them, a fumble from the quarterback, turned into a score for Marshall. Southern Miss only threw one pick, so four fumbles were what gave the Thundering Herd enough momentum to win.
