Devon Johnson returned and broke off a 75 yard run right off the bat for the Thundering Herd. He received just three carries, so the top rusher was Hyleck Foster, who ran for 122 yards and one touchdown. Freshman quarterback Chase Litton had a pretty solid game, throwing 17/28 for 177 yards and a touchdown and interception.

Marshall had exactly 500 yards of offense and kept Florida Atlantic to 334 total yards.
