Washington Huskies
The Washington Huskies lost three first-round picks in the 2015 NFL draft and had a true freshman quarterback coming in with an inexperienced offensive line. The expectations couldn’t have been too high for this program considering all they lost.
Chris Peterson is one of the best coaches in the country and they’ve actually probably exceeded the expectations so far for their fan base. Jake Browning isn’t the most reliable quarterback and he’s probably not somebody that you would consider as a top half quarterback in the Pac-12 but it’s the defense that’s been getting it done.
And that’s especially amazing considering the talent that they lost in last year’s draft with Shelton true font and Thompson on the defensive side on the ball. This defense is keeping them in games and it won them that USC game.
With the defense playing so well its hiding the deficiencies of Browning and allowing this team to stay competitive and a close in a close game with Oregon and Cal they were in those games until the last drive and is the team that realistically could be six to know if everything went right for them but that’s not how college football works.
Overall Grade: B+
