Nate Sudfeld is back and that means Indiana can score. Sudfeld hit on 23 of 37 passes for 308 yards with three touchdowns and just one pick. Sudfeld is helping Simmie Cobbs Jr and Mitchell Paige put up numbers. Jordan Howard was back in the lineup for the first time since the Ohio State game and gained 78 yards on just 11 attempts. The Indiana offense looks much like it has for Kevin Wilson’s tenure in Bloomington.
Unfortunately, the Indiana defense also looks very similar to previous Hoosier editions under Wilson. Indiana gave up 540 yards and 33 first downs to Michigan State. The 2015 Hoosier defense is hasn’t stopped anyone; ranking 114th in points yielded (37.3), 120th in yardage (509) and dead last against the pass (343 ypg).
Indiana’s resume is highlighted by taking Ohio State to the wire, matching Michigan State for three quarters and winning at Wake Forest. The Hoosiers will need to split its final four games (Maryland, Iowa, Michigan, Purdue) to reach just its second bowl game since 1993. I’m not touching that bet.

Indiana Hoosiers 4-4
Last week: L 44-26 MSU
Last rank: 12
The losses are mounting and bowl eligibility hopes are fading.
4-0 Indiana is now 4-4 Indiana. Similar to the game vs Ohio State, the Hoosiers had legitimate hopes of pulling off an upset when it only trailed Michigan State 28-26 in the fourth quarter. The Spartans then woke up and scored 24 straight points to win 52-26.
