Herman has the Cougars undefeated and will be a hot commodity this offseason, perhaps even at USC if Houston can run the table. Herman, a California native, will have plenty of options at the end of the year, but if Tech wants to open the checkbook, they may have a chance to get Herman.

Tom Herman

Head Coach, Houston

Speaking of developing quarterbacks, there may not be a better coach in the country at developing quarterbacks than first-year Houston head coach Tom Herman. Last year, Herman won the Broyles Award as the nation’s top assistant coach for his work at Ohio State where the Buckeyes won the national championship with third-string quarterback, Cardale Jones.

Prior to that he turned redshirt freshman, J.T. Barrett into a Heisman candidate who set the Big Ten record for touchdowns in a season. This year, Herman has Greg Ward, Jr. who is among the leaders in passing, rushing touchdowns and has the Cougars ranked fifth in scoring.
