Season stats: 154/219, 1936 yards, 20 touchdowns, 7 interceptions
Last game vs NC State:23/30, 383 yards, 5 touchdowns, 1 rushing touchdown
Watson checks back in on this list, after just falling out the week before. He had never done anything spectacular, but he’s leading his team to wins. The Heisman trophy has been a very stat oriented award, and Watson’s stats weren’t up to those of quarterbacks already on this list.
But this weekend, he threw for five touchdowns vs NC State in an offensive battle. His 30 attempts are fairly high for what he normally throws at times, and his 383 yards is his second best performance of the season, with the touchdowns to add along. In every game in which he’s thrown three touchdowns, he’s thrown an interception as well, which is interesting to note.
He has a do-able schedule, and it’ll be close if he wants to get a bid to New York.
