- Over/Under Total: 55.5
The No. 18 Ole Miss Rebels have the top-rated scoring offense (39.4 points per game), total offense (519.6 yards) and passing offense (346.7 passing yards) in the SEC, thanks in large part to quarterback Chad Kelly’s league-leading 2,856 yards and 20 touchdowns (both of which rank among the nation’s top ten).
Of course, much of Kelly’s production is the result of his deep group of talented receivers including Laquon Treadwell, who leads the league with 61 receptions and 870 receiving yards, and has also snagged six touchdown catches. Cody Core (25 catches, 452 yards, 3 TD) and Quincy Adeboyejo (30 catches, 446 yards, 6 TD) provide Kelly with a number of options on the perimeter, including potential All-SEC tight end Evan Engram.
Arkansas has also been strong offensively this season, and the Razorbacks have averaged 32.5 points and 456.0 total yards of offense this year. Alex Collins 960 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns under his belt thus far, with an average gain of 5.8 yards per carry, spearheading an average 196.0 rushing yards per game for the Hogs that ranks No. 4 in the SEC and No. 36 in the country.
However, the Landshark Ole Miss defense is getting better – and healthier – and should be pose a stiff challenge for Collins and the Razorbacks. The Rebels have surrendered an average of 121.5 rushing yards per game this season but two weeks ago Ole Miss stuffed Texas A&M for just 58 rushing yards, and last week Auburn gained only 125 yards on the ground on 41 carries (3.0 yards per attempt).
Arkansas is 4-4 overall and 2-2 in the SEC, and has eyes on a second consecutive bowl game, but Ole Miss has bigger fish to fry because the Rebels control their destiny in the SEC West.
With Kelly and Treadwell leading the offense (neither of whom played in Arkansas’ 30-0 victory over the Rebels last season), plus a healthy Robert Nkemdiche, C.J. Johnson and preseason All-American candidate Tony Conner, who missed the last six games due to season knee surgery, Ole Miss should win. But it will be close.
