Sports Illustrated has awarded the Sportsman of the Year annually since 1954 and now FanSided is thrilled to announce the inaugural FanSided Fan of the Year contest to the sports fan who embodies loyalty, dedication and a fire for the team and its players that can never be extinguished.
Have you had season tickets to your favorite college football team for years? Are you the life of the party at the tailgate? Do you wear your team’s colors proudly and have merchandise and memorabilia throughout your house?
That’s the type of person who could be a candidate to win the FanSided Fan of the Year and it’s super easy to enter your name into the running.
Or maybe it’s not you who is the ideal candidate, but rather it’s your dad, mom, brother, sister, roommate, etc. We all know a superfan who is deserving of having his or her moment in the sun and get some accolades for supporting the team through all the good and bad times.
Here’s how to enter: Send us a two-minute video or a 200-word essay to FanOfTheYear@FanSided.com telling us your story and explaining why you should be named FanSided Fan of the Year. We’ll review all submissions and narrow down the field to five finalists. Each finalist will receive a one-year subscription to Sports Illustrated and will be interviewed and profiled on FanSided.com. The grand prize winner will be featured in Sports Illustrated magazine!
