Arizona State at Washington State – Sat, Nov 7, 3:30 PM ET
Point Spread: WSU -3.5
Washington State has played much better than anyone outside of the football program would have imagined this year, including a huge win over perennial Pac-12 power Oregon earlier this year and a near upset over Stanford last week.
Mike Leach’s team had the Cardinal on the ropes before surrendering their lead late and missing a field goal late that would have won the game and I wonder if there will be any sort of emotional hangover that lingers into their game against the Arizona State Sun Devils.
Todd Graham’s team hasn’t played well this season and are now 4-4 after back-to-back losses to at Utah and vs. Oregon in triple overtime. This is a game Arizona State had marked as a win in the preseason and if they’re going to make a bowl game can’t afford to lose this one.
Washington State is the better team and are at home, but I like that ASU got their run game going last week against Oregon after only running for 15 yards in the loss to a tough Utah defense. The Sun Devils ran for a season-high 344 yards on 55 carries and two touchdowns vs. the Ducks and a commitment to the run game this weekend should get them the win.
