No. 2 LSU at No. 4 Alabama – Sat, Nov 7, 8:00 PM ET

Point Spread: ALA -6.5

It’s the game of the week and is often the case when the LSU Tigers and Alabama Crimson Tide meet is also a SEC West elimination game and College Football Playoff Game.

This is going to be an instant classic that could be decided on the final play of the game as time expires or even in overtime, which would be a real treat for fans watching the game.

It’ll be a strength vs. strength with LSU’s No. 2 scoring offense and No. 1 rushing offense in the SEC against Alabama’s No. 3 scoring defense and No. 1 rushing defense.

More from Saturday Blitz

Leonard Fournette is the Heisman front-runner and LSU’s offensive line may be the best in the nation and certainly the unsung hero on Les Miles’ team, but Fournette will have to be the Superman he’s been all year and be the best player on the field on Saturday night in Tuscaloosa, and I think he will be.

Alabama is a great team — regardless if you believe their No. 4 ranking is justified — and playing better with each passing week as the young defensive backs gain more confidence and Jake Coker gets more comfortable under center. Derrick Henry isn’t too far off the pace of Fournette when it comes to the Heisman chase and have home-field advantage.

LSU lost 20-13 in overtime last year and hasn’t beat Alabama since 2011, but that ends on Saturday with the Tigers coming away with a win thanks to Fournette and steady play from quarterback Brandon Harris.
