Baker Mayfield is playing well, but so are the candidates above him. Still sitting on one loss, Oklahoma has a chance to do some damage with their remaining schedule. With possibly the toughest remaining schedule in all of college football, the Sooners will either sink or swim.
At Baylor, TCU and at Oklahoma State, but neither team seems to have a superior defense this year, and Baker Mayfield can take advantage. That’s asking for a lot from any team, and there’s probably no team in the country who could make it out alive with that schedule, so this could be it for Mayfield.
TCU might be the most winnable game, simply because of their inconsistent defense, and Oklahoma State might be the next most vulnerable opponent, but even then, things just don’t look good.
