Season Stats: 233/354, 3372 yards, 29 touchdowns, 9 interceptions
Last game vs Oklahoma State: 35/57, 445 yards, 1 touchdown, 4 interceptions
TCU’s defense finally failed them, and Trevone Boykin’s four interceptions did not help. His four interceptions are a career high, and they could not have come at a worse time. Now, it seems as if TCU has taken themselves out of the College Football Playoffs, and Boykin out of the Heisman race, potentially.
It was only a matter of time before the Horned Frog defense cost the team the game, a loss that could have been long overdue, after needing a prayer of a tip to beat Texas Tech early in the season.
Boykin has the best numbers out of any quarterback in the nation, but those interceptions killed any and all momentum going forward for him. With top performances from other leading candidates, Boykin will really have to put in some work in his remaining games, with Kansas, Oklahoma and Baylor all left.
