2. Iowa (10-0, 6-0)
Let the “Iowa is not worthy” chatter resume. The Hawkeyes were again imperfect in not disposing of a marginal team until late in the game. It all adds up to perfection where it counts as Iowa starts a season 10-0 for the first time in school history following a 40-28 decision over Minnesota.
Few can question C.J. Beathard‘s excellence. The quarterback just makes plays. He turned in another efficient game threw the air (18 of 26, 213 yards) and hurt the Gophers with his legs (two rushing touchdowns). Leshun Daniels (26 carries, 195 yards, 3 touchdowns) took the rushing duties this week and the defense did just enough. Purdue is next.
1. Ohio State (10-0, 6-0)
J.T. Barrett received the tuneup Urban Meyer wanted in preparation for the Spartans. Barrett wasn’t real sharp in hitting 15 of 23, but used his speed and instincts to make big plays on his own. Ezekiel Elliott ripped off his 15th consecutive 100-yard effort. Joey Bosa and company completely shut down Wes Lunt and Josh Ferguson in a 28-3 win over Illinois.

The Buckeyes appear to be primed to take on the much anticipated closing stretch of Michigan State, Michigan and a probable Big Ten Championship Game. Only Baylor and Oklahoma State can relate to this kind of ramp up in scheduling.
