Birmingham Bowl
- Who: Cincinnati vs. Auburn
- Where: Legion Field, Birmingham, Alabama
- When: Wednesday, Dec. 30, noon (ESPN)
Auburn was the preseason pick to win the SEC and now they’re projected to play in the Birmingham Bowl. That’s how things went for Gus Malzahn’s team this year.
Belk Bowl
- Who: NC State vs. Ole Miss
- Where: Bank of America Stadium, Charlotte, North Carolina
- When: Wednesday, Dec. 30, 3:30 p.m. (ESPN)
The last game in a Ole Miss uniform for Robert Nkemdiche, Laremy Tunsil and Laquon Treadwell before all are taken in the top 15 picks in the 2016 NFL Draft.
Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl
- Who: Tennessee vs. Illinois
- Where: Nissan Stadium, Nashville, Tennessee
- When: Wednesday, Dec. 30, 7 p.m. (ESPN)
This is not what Tennessee hoped for when they were a preseason candidate to win the SEC East, but Illinois, however would be happy to be here considering they fired their coach (Tim Beckman) a week before the season started. The Illini could be thinking upset in this one, although it’ll be a home game for the Vols.
National University Holiday Bowl
- Who: Wisconsin vs. Oregon
- Where: Qualcomm Stadium, San Diego
- When: Wednesday, Dec. 30, 10:30 p.m. (ESPN)
This was an outstanding Rose Bowl a few years ago and even though both teams didn’t have the same elite seasons as year’s past, the Badgers defense against Vernon Adams, Royce Freeman and the Ducks offense would be fun to watch.
Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl
- Who: Michigan State vs. Notre Dame
- Where: Georgia Dome, Atlanta
- When: Thursday, Dec. 31, noon (ESPN)
These two teams used to play each other all the time until Notre Dame dipped their toes in the ACC waters. Shapes up to be one of the best of the non-playoff matchups.
