Outback Bowl
- Who: Northwestern vs. Arkansas
- Where: Raymond James Stadium, Tampa, Florida
- When: Friday, Jan. 1, noon (ESPN2)
This game would feature a couple of stud running backs in NU’s Justin Jackson and Alex Collins from Arkansas.
Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl
- Who: Michigan vs. LSU
- Where: Orlando Citrus Bowl, Orlando, Florida
- When: Friday, Jan. 1, 1 p.m. (ABC)
One of my favorite bowl projections with a couple of ‘Michigan Men’ in Les Miles and Jim Harbaugh coaching against each other. Leonard Fournette running against the Wolverines defense would be worth the price of admission.
Fiesta Bowl
- Who: Baylor vs. Houston
- Where: University of Phoenix Stadium, Glendale, Arizona
- When: Friday, Jan. 1, 1 p.m. (ESPN)
Another Fiesta Bowl appearance for Baylor who could be playing against an undefeated Houston team. Will Cougars head coach Tom Herman still be the head coach by this time or will he be the new head coach at a place like USC, South Carolina, Miami or Virginia Tech?
Rose Bowl Game Presented By Northwestern Mutual
- Who: Iowa vs. Stanford
- Where: Rose Bowl, Pasadena, California
- When: Friday, Jan. 1, 5 p.m. (ESPN)
This would be a bloodbath similar to the Michigan State-Stanford meeting two years ago. Both teams are going to pound it in the run game and play physical defense.
Allstate Sugar Bowl
- Who: Florida vs. Oklahoma State
- Where: Mercedes-Benz Superdome, New Orleans
- When: Friday, Jan. 1, 8:30 p.m. (ESPN)
Oklahoma State just misses out on the playoff when they lose to Oklahoma in Bedlam on the last week of the year. Florida couldn’t have asked for much more than a SEC East title and a Sugar Bowl berth in Jim McElwain’s first year as head coach. The Gators last played in the Sugar Bowl in 2012, the second year under Will Muschamp.
