College Football Playoff: Which one-loss teams have best playoff resume?

North Carolina is getting no love here by the playoff committee. Their strength of schedule is still top 50, but their loss at the beginning of the season vs. South Carolina doesn’t look nearly as good as it should have been.

Of course, the major concern with UNC is that they haven’t defeated any currently ranked opponents. Duke, Pitt, Georgia Tech, all were in the top 25 at one point, but constantly fluctuate outside the top 25 and flirt with the rankings. But still, this is my way of showing that Carolina deserves some love in the polls, whether the committee likes them or not.

But stack them up against Florida, or Toledo, and I think that the Tar Heels would have a pretty solid chance at winning that game. Oklahoma State, maybe not.
